Every time Scripture describes Jesus after the resurrection he is seated at the right hand of God. Psalm 110. Hebrews 1. Mark 16. Always seated. Except once. Acts 7. Stephen is being stoned outside the city. He looks up and sees Jesus standing. In the ancient world a judge was seated. But a witness stood to acknowledge what they had seen. Jesus stood for Stephen. Not as a judge. As a witness. Matthew 10:32. Whoever acknowledges me before others I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

A Jewish crowd laughed while I preached the Gospel in the middle of the street… but by the end, the atmosphere completely changed. 👀 I spoke about Isaiah 53, the prophecy written hundreds of years before Jesus Christ was crucified: “He was pierced for our transgressions…” The same Messiah that was rejected… is the same Messiah who still calls people to repentance and salvation today. ✝️ Sometimes people mock the message at first… until the Word of God starts piercing the heart. #JesusChrist #Is
