Mar 12, 2006 · And the LIVEUPDATE never seems to stop running, although it is not actually doing anything that I can tell because today the new virus definitions should have come out and nothing has been updated. Norton has got a problem and all e-mails ignore the mention of this and simply say to upgrade or uninstall/reinstall.

Dec 8, 2004 · I succeeded in that, and had to reboot. Then I ran liveupdate again, to be sure everything was up to date, and I find out there's another update for the URL thing. Liveupdate shows me that the update is 26819.4 kb, but when liveupdate start downloading the update, the file is only around 19000 kb.

What is unusual about my situation is that the large full Norton virus definitions file is being downloaded way too often, as I stated in my original post here, in response to the failed installation of the small incremental virus definitions file.
