Kelly Stanford is a local Science Communicator who uses art as a fun and engaging science outreach tool. In 2018 she collaborated with 70 scientists from around the city to create the STEM Bee – a Scicomm sculpture embellished with science facts and signatures representing Manchester’s scientific heritage both past and present.

Kelly Stanford - Science Communicator and Artist - Bee of Life
I was commissioned by Manchester Life (a local property firm) to design and create this vibrant bee for their offices in Ancoats, Manchester. The design incorporates many visual references to the city, including famous faces down the bee’s thorax, Oasis lyrics and even a glow-in-the-dark recreation of the city skyline!
