Feb 11, 2009 · Light years ahead of Fox Farms Ocean Forest - not even close. FFOF sells for around $10.00 and $8.00 per bag if you buy a full pallet around here. I wouldn't buy or use it regardless of how low they dropped the price. Nice soil if you like powdery mildew, gnats, etc. Sounds like you found a real winner with the Coast of Maine products! Mar 22, 2011 · IMO Ocean Forest is not a good medium. I use sunshine 4 and pearlite. There are no nutes so the only things my plants get is exactly what I give them. Also Ocean Forest compacts over time causing the soil to harden. It also can burn new starts as the soil is to hot. If you are sold on O F, mix it do cool it down. At least 4/1.

Feb 25, 2009 · Im strickly soilless mix but my friend loves ff ocean.He uses botanicare pro mix nutes. I wouldn't feed them until they are several leaf sets in, or the soil has had pH balanced wateronly run through it a couple times. maybe put some rocks on the bottom and top of the bucket for airation and prevent mold/alge growth.

Oct 30, 2019 · My goal is to go as organic as possible so I was able to purchase fox farm ocean forest soil but I was told I would need nutrients at some point to feed the soil. I struggled to find many dry amendments but was able to come across a brand called "Gaia green" I got Gaia Green All-Purpose 4-4-4 for Veg and Gaia green 2-8-4 for flower.

Jan 7, 2014 · I know fox farms isn't the best but it's all I got left on hand at the moment from my latest grow, and wanted to grow with the bag I got left and add a few amendments to the soil so I can make it from seed to harvest with only water. I seen a simple recipe posted on RIU,a while back. Would a simple recipe like this be effiecent or even work?
