Jan 16, 2025 · Dragon Age: Origins crashes a lot on modern PCs. One way to reduce or even eliminate this is by using NTCore's 4GB patch. This is a tool (not specific for this game) that patches x86 executables to allow them to use more memory. However, since this isn't officially supported or endorsed by BioWare or EA, I can't link to it.

To fix the issue, I went to AVG, the Menu in the top-right of the program, then Settings, Exceptions, and added the EA Desktop program files and also the Dragon Age Inquisition game files. I haven't tried just one or the other, so can't say which is the problem folder, but this setup allows me to start the game without issue.
