Oct 9, 2015 · Let's guess that the Dreadnaught is about 25% mass, and 75% empty space. I would assume the material is probably somewhere between the density of Iron (7.8 g/cm 3) and Limestone (2.7 g/cm 3) for an average of 5.25 g/cm 3. The width of the Dreadnaught appears to be 27% of the length, making it 950km across (diagonally since it is a diamond shape).

So, obviously the Dreadnaught is pretty big. But it wasn't until I started thinking about it that I realized how big. Remember the spaceship size chart that was floating around a while back? The Dreadnaught would not even fit on the chart, or indeed on your monitor.

From the cinematic, the Dreadnaught is about 0.07 times as long, and in the same plane as the rings. That makes the Dreadnaught... [b]5110km long! [/b] That's over 5 million metres. From other, better quality images of the Dreadnaught, I've calculated that one side of one of its square ends is about 0.3 times as long as it's length.

Objects in Destiny are almost never presented to scale and artistic license/playability are what matters to Bungie.
