May 3, 2016 · Again, looking at an Ericson 27 and liking it, look around for an Ericson 29 - Much roomier than the 2 feet would suggest, and these too will be available at reasonable prices today. If you have an alternative for the short term, I doubt you'll regret saving up some more and going to 29-30 feet. There's no shortage of decent candidates out there.

Apr 23, 2013 · Hope you can offer some advice or comments please! Looked at a 1973 Ericson 27 on the weekend and it's ready to be launched and sailed. That's not what I want to do with it though. I'd like to spend time restoroing all the interior wood and just making it ours. It is tiller steering and just questioning the location of the tiller.

Oct 24, 2002 · Look at Catalina 27's Steve, Two years ago I did a lot of looking and ended up choosing between Ericson 27's and Catlalina 27's. I went with the Catalina and have been very happy with her. Paid considerably less than your are considering for a 1982 standard rig in excellent shape.

Aug 30, 2018 · I may be considering another old boat, a nice local 1972 Ericson 27. Pretty interesting boat with a tiller and an outboard well in the stern. Condition is everything of course so I'll get more details as I look at it tomorrow. Really I'm not actually looking but this one sort of fell into my lap so I thought it was worth a consideration.

Mar 4, 2019 · We viewed the Hullmaster 27 and a nice '81 Ericson 30+ yesterday, which made an interesting comparison. The Hullmaster is actually quite similar in measurements to an Ericson 27, but the absence of a quarter berth makes it seem smaller inside, with a large icebox/nav table taking the same space as the galley, so it feels quite hemmed in.

Jan 11, 2002 · Bill Shaw learned quite a bit in those 17 years, especially how to get and use interior volume. The 27, while really only a few inches longer than the 26, is an all around bigger boat in all dimensions, especially displacement, LWL and beam. I haven''t sailed any Ericsons, but the P-27 handles rough water very well.
