Apr 21, 2023 · Displayport 1.4a (which is what the 4090 has) can do 32.4GB/s while HDMI 2.1 can do 48GB/s. DP 1.4a also has display stream compression. This is what allows it to do 4k120 with HDR.

The primary problem with buying an RTX 4090 for 1440p gaming is the fact modern xx80 and xx90 cars have more performance value at higher resolutions (2160p and higher). The xx70 class cards tend to best suit 1440p gaming. Of course, that's not saying the 4090 would be bad, it just would be even more of a poor value than it already is for 2160p.

Aug 22, 2023 · For those wondering, I purchased 64G DDR5 and switched out my existing 32G. The R15 only has two memory slots. The RAM speed increased from 4.8GHz to 5.6GHz. Unfortunately, with more RAM even at higher speed, the speed is about the same 1 - 1.5t/s. Hope this helps someone considering upgrading RAM to get higher inference speed on a single 4090.

Dec 16, 2022 · Got the Asus 3090 Strix on launch and I also wanted that for the 4090, but it was 500€ more than this Gigabyte Windforce 4090, so I got it and I'm very happy with it. Great cooler, dual bios function too and less expensive. Yeah, maybe the 4090 ROG Strix has better quality components, I but I doubt they are 500€ better.

However I want to use my VR occasionally too (Quest 2) and it is known that HAGS needs to be turned off to avoid performance issues.
