Children Of Men, the acclaimed film from director Alfonso Cuaron, is set in a future where women have stopped having children and an activist (Clive Owen) finds himself working to protect the last pregnant woman on the planet. The movie isn’t currently streaming, but it is available for digital rental and purchase from all major online outlets.

Liman also is a collaborator of Tom Cruise, helming the well-regarded 2014 original sci-fi movie The Edge of Tomorrow as well as American Made. He is now working on Deeper, an underwater supernatural thriller that is being targeted for Cruise and Ana de Armas.

Stephen King’s The Long Walk and The Running Man both get adaptations in 2025, but the author’s best post-apocalyptic dystopian novel is another book.
