The Kansas City Chiefs are always at the forefront of innovation in the NFL, and during Sunday’s blowout win over the Las Vegas Raiders Andy Reid’s team put another fascinating wrinkle into their offense on a seemingly routine fourth down sequence.

Facing a fourth-and-1 around their own 39-yard line, the Chiefs kept their offense out on the field. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes attempted to use the hard count to get the Raiders to jump, and was unsuccessful. He then stood up, said very clearly, "This f-----g never f-----g works."

Mahomes, 30, has been surgical this season despite wide receivers Xavier Worthy missing time with an injury, and Rashee Rice being suspended for the first six games. Even with the adversity he has faced this season, Mahomes has never once publicly complained and continues to put his head down and grind.
