Kodak Black, born and raised in Pompano Beach, was honored with a key to the city on Tuesday for his significant contributions to the community.

Kodak Black’s got a new piece of hardware to add to his collection. On Tuesday, the rapper born Bill Kapri received the key to the city of his hometown of Pompano Beach, Fla. The city’s official Instagram page shared a picture of Black standing in between Mayor Rex Hardin and City Manager Greg Harrison, a huge grin on his face.

Grammy-nominated rapper and philanthropist Kodak Black was awarded the Key to the City of Pompano Beach on Tuesday in recognition of what officials described as his significant generosity and positive impact on the community. The 28-year-old was born and raised in Pompano Beach.
