For the first time ever, the No. 21 Texas Longhorns are in Lexington playing the Kentucky Wildcats trying to keep the team’s College Football Playoff hopes alive in a tough environment against a team that has lost three straight SEC games to open the season.

Arch Manning and the No. 21 Texas Longhorns narrowly escaped with a 16-13 overtime road win over Kentucky on Saturday, capped by a game-winning field goal.

Statistically, Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley — 31-for-39 passing, 258 yards and an interception with a rushing touchdown — outplayed ballyhooed Texas QB Arch Manning, who completed 12 of 27 passes for 132 yards.

On fourth and goal from inside the one-yard line, Donte Dowdell was stopped in overtime to prevent the Wildcats from scoring. No. 21 Texas connected with a 45 yard game-winning field goal to escape Lexington with a 16-13 win. Kentucky falls to 2-4 on the season (0-4 in SEC play).
