Survivors of a building collapse that killed 27 people in the Pakistani city of Karachi were trying on Monday to come to terms with the loss of loved ones and their homes.

The death toll in the Lyari building collapse in Karachi has risen to 16. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with several people still believed to be trapped under the rubble. The Sindh Building Control Authority had previously declared the building unsafe.
