On Tuesday, Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen announced that Daniel Jones would be the team's starting quarterback. Steichen said that Jones wouldn't have a short leash and that the Colts want him to be a long-term solution this year.
While there’s plenty of external frustration with the decision, inside the building, the Colts aren’t flinching. Defensive captain DeForest Buckner recently spoke on the decision, saying whoever was named then starter would receive unwavering support.
In the end, it was Jones who won as he was announced as the starter for Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. That leaves Richardson, who the Colts selected with the No. 4 pick in the 2023 draft, on the outside looking in.
