Ecuador’s biggest drug lord has been extradited to the US one month after he was recaptured following a mysterious 2024 prison escape, which triggered a wave of violence across the country.
The flight transporting Macias landed in New York state on Sunday night, according to the Flightradar tracking site.
Adolfo Macias, who was recaptured in June after escaping from prison last year, will appear in New York court on Monday.
