Canada-based Research In Motion (RIM) on Wednesday announced the launch of BlackBerry PlayBook tablet in India, priced at Rs.27,990 (for 16 GB), Rs.32,990 (32GB) and Rs.37,990 (64 GB).

The seven-inch PlayBook boldly tried to shore up BlackBerry’s place in the industry, establishing itself as a major player in the modernized, big-screen, and App Store-powered iOS and Android.

It measures in at 219 x 58 x 154mm. The PlayBook hasn't exactly set the market alight until now. In January, RIM cut its price amid reports of poor sales.
