NHL players will be cleared to participate in the Olympics for the first time in more than a decade at the 2026 Winter Games, the league, players union and international Olympic and hockey officials announced Wednesday.

NHL players are officially set to participate in the Olympics for the first time since the 2014 Sochi Games. The IIHF and International Olympic Committee announced on Wednesday that they have finalized an agreement with the NHL and the NHL Players' Association to allow NHL players to compete in the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics.

Officials from the NHL, NHL Players' Association, and the International Ice Hockey Federation officially signed a deal on July 2, allowing NHL players to compete in the Winter Olympics.
