The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department said the situation at Smith Hall has been resolved as of 7:25 p.m.

LFR responded to the fire at Harper Dining Center at 4:54 p.m. and put the fire out shortly after. The dining hall and nearby Smith Hall were evacuated.

UNL plans to raze the matching pair of high-rise dormitories that have overlooked 17th Street since they were completed in 1963, as well as the dining hall connecting the two.
