The recall is for Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EL Elemental (PPVD EL) prescription dry dog food, and for both 8-pound and 20-pound bags of the product.

Purina dry cat food in the form of pellets is easy to feed cats who can regulate their food intake. With just 10% water, the remaining 90% of dry food consists of carbohydrates, fats and vitamins.

Fortunately, Purina hasn’t issued a voluntary recall on any of its cat food products in 2024. Additionally, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) so far hasn’t mandated Purina to issue a recall.
