Americans in multiple northern states may have a chance to see the northern lights this week. According to a forecast from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC),

Tuesday night, the auroras could be visible along the edge of Oregon, as well as in parts of Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Alaska.

Because of these conditions, 14 states have a chance of spotting the aurora borealis tonight, including, Washington, northern Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
