A man is in custody after an officer was struck in a hit-and-run at Bourbon and Conti. He was found on Canal Street.

"Our thoughts are with the injured officer, their loved ones, and the entire NOPD family," Hutson said in a statement.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Mark Hunter Jr. of Belle Chasse, was arrested after a chase ended in a Canal Street parking garage.
