Driver: Pentecost is an Old Testament feast that was fulfilled. And the Book of Acts, Chapter two on the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was poured out in the upper room on the believers.

Pentecost Sunday, the conclusion of the Easter season, occurs 50 days after Easter Sunday. It marks the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and Mary.

On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit — whom Jesus Christ promised to send at his Ascension — burst into the upper room “like a strong driving wind” where his Apostles and disciples were gathered.

It is on this date that many congregations recall the sending of the Holy Spirit on the new Church so long ago. In keeping with the Jewish tradition, it occurred on the 50th day after Passover.
