On its launch in 2017, Genesis very publicly stated that the G70 was a sport sedan intended to take on the previous-generation BMW 3-Series. Not the current, contemporary 3-Series, but the old one.

According to Korea’s MotorsJason, the luxury sports sedan will be completely redesigned. The report claims the next-gen Genesis G70 will be exclusively sold as an EV model.

The Genesis G70 is now the company’s oldest model – unveiled in 2017 – and was developed alongside the Kia Stinger performance liftback, which was discontinued in 2023.

The Genesis G70 is pretty expensive, and despite its chops as a sports sedan, it's more focused on the luxury side of things. That's where its cousin, the Kia Stinger, comes in.
