That's the idea behind the animated buddy comedy Free Birds (out Nov. 1), which finds two turkeys (voiced by Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson) time-traveling back to the Pilgrim era to save turkey ...

But the storyline -- two brave turkeys make it their mission to travel back in time and get their breed off the Thanksgiving menu -- seems a little desperate at times, even for a kiddie film.
