Dr. Demento to sign off in October after 55-year run of radio Veteran DJ to close weekly show on 55th anniversary with retrospective arc and Top 40 finale.

After 55 years, the Dr. Demento show - which launched the career of "Weird Al" Yankovic - is going off the air.

Radio veteran Dr. Demento announced plans for his retirement after 55 years on air in June 2025.
