Dorian Finney-Smith did not end his Los Angeles Lakers’ journey on a good note. The veteran forward signed a four-year, $53 million deal with the Houston Rockets, as he failed to make a successful deal of two years with the Lakers.

L uka Doncic and Dorian Finney-Smith have been close friends dating back to their stint on the Dallas Mavericks together. Even before reuniting on the Lakers in the wake of Doncic’s shocking trade to L.A. last year, the then-Mavericks star had said Finney-Smith was “my guy,” and predicted they’d team up again in the future.

After declining his $15.4 million player option with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2025-26 season, Dorian Finney-Smith reportedly agreed to a contract with the Houston Rockets.
