A new Emerson College poll, released Thursday, found Trump has a 49 percent job approval rating and a 41 percent disapproval rating. Another 10 percent of respondents were neutral, according to the poll.

Trump’s initial net approval rating of +7% is lower than that of any newly elected president since World War II. The only exception: Trump himself during his first term, when he had a 44.6% approval rating and a 41.4% disapproval rating, based on current averaging methodology being applied retroactively.
