The Downtown Association is looking for art for this year’s Christmas Stroll Button. DGFA has issued a call to artists for artwork to be used for this year’s event Dec. 5.

Christmas is a creature of the 19th century, so the advent of the Civil War found Americans in the throes of Victorian sentimental enthusiasm for Father Christmas, gift-giving, and candlelit trees.

The buttons are for sale at Art Experience and Marelli's Market in downtown Hampton, as well as The Galley Hatch, The 401 Tavern, the Old Salt, and Hoaty's restaurants, and The Coffee Break Café ...

Allison Choi, a sixth grader at Margaret Leary School, took first place honors in the child button design category. Both will each receive $300 in Uptown Bucks to spend at Uptown Butte businesses.
