In a format that will only generate buzz around the WNBA and possibly spark more controversy, the captains for the two All-Star teams will pick their rosters. Both Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who received 1,293,526 votes, and Minnesota Lynx Forward Napheesa Collier, who received 1,176,020 votes from fans, were named as captains.

In the player vote, Clark was not even the highest-ranked player on her team – Kelsey Mitchell placed three spots better at No. 6. Clark has seen a slight dip in her stats from last season, averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game on 29.5 percent efficiency from beyond the arc.
