City council members in Fitchburg voted Tuesday night to renew the liquor license for a bar and grill that's been the scene of violent crimes over the last few years.

After backstage battles involving multiple factions, the state Legislature has approved bill that allows bars, restaurants to buy small amounts of alcohol from liquor stores.
