A pre-dawn crash into a playa lake in southwest Amarillo left a 22-year-old man dead on Saturday, May 31, after emergency crews recovered his body from the water, according to police.

The playground resurfacing project was approved by Amarillo City Council on March 25. The city awarded a $132,347.50 contract to Exerplay, Inc. under BuyBoard Contract 679-22.
