President Donald Trump’s executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska’s Denali has resulted in lots of discussion.

Google will rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America and restore Denali in Alaska, the highest peak in North America, to its previous name, Mount McKinley.

Google said on Monday that it will change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to “Gulf of America” in Google Maps once it is updated in the U.S. Geographic Names System. Google Maps will also change the name of Denali in Alaska to “Mount McKinley.

Google will show Gulf of Mexico as "Gulf of America" and Alaska's Denali as "Mount McKinley" in the United States once the U.S. government has officially updated to the U.S. Geographic Names Information System.

On his first day in office, Trump issued an executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico and Mount Denali, stating that the “naming of our national treasures, including breathtaking natural wonders and historic works of art, should honor the contributions of visionary and patriotic Americans in our Nation’s rich past.”

Google said only users in the U.S. will see the change, adding that the name "Gulf of Mexico" will remain displayed for users in Mexico.

Google says it will take its cue from the U.S. government if it has to change the names of the Gulf of Mexico and Denali on its Maps service

Trump said in his inauguration speech on January 20 that he planned to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the' Gulf of America' and restore the name' Mount McKinley' to North America's highest peak Denali.
