RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT)—The Virginia Department of Health is tracking a surge in visits to the emergency room and urgent care for tick bites and illnesses related to them.

The bill’s introduction comes amid recent research that identified the Midcoast as the epicenter of the parasite’s activity with at least 45% of adult ticks testing positive for Lyme.
