Teenage sensation Estevao bid an emotional farewell to Palmeiras after the Brazilian club's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Club World Cup quarter-finals on Friday.

Chelsea fans might’ve been shocked to see Estêvão celebrate so passionately as Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign was put at risk, but as the dust settled and Chelsea defeated Palmeiras, even they’ll say it was a terrific finish.

Chelsea came into the clash after a mixed group campaign that included a defeat to Flamengo, followed by a weather-delayed round of 16 victory over Benfica. Palmeiras were not entirely convincing in winning Group A, before seeing off fellow Brazilian side Botafogo. The Athletic ’s Mark Carey and Larry Henry break down the action.
