Nvidia (NVDA) has solidified its position as a leader in the technology industry, especially within the semiconductor space. No other semiconductor company has experienced growth as explosive as Nvidia’s.

NVIDIA Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) holds a dominant 90% market share as a supplier of computing power. It recently introduced its GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards (including RTX 5090 and RTX 5080) which use the Blackwell architecture. These GPUs offer ~2x the performance of the previous generation and feature advanced AI technologies.

Shares of leading designer of graphics chips Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) jumped 5.1% in the morning session after market sentiment improved ahead of CEO Jensen Huang's speech at CES (Consumer Electronic Show) 2025.

According to IFR, the US manufacturing companies have invested significantly in automation, and the industrial robot installations surged by 12% to 44,303 units in 2023. Whereas, robotics installations in the electrical and electronics industry increased to 5,120 units in 2023, up by 37% year-over-year.

Investors were not impressed by Nvidia's quarterly performance and outlook even though it handily beat Wall Street's expectations thanks to the booming demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) chips.

The cyclical nature of chip stocks could affect Nvidia stock in the near term. Unfortunately for investors who want to buy Nvidia shares, its success has made determining whether it is a buy now a more difficult problem.
