Less than a week in office, East Cleveland Mayor Lateek Shabazz on Monday fired Kenneth Lundy, the city’s acting police chief.

Shabazz says Lundy’s appointment and rise through the ranks skirted civil service law — and accuses him of a personal conflict in a homicide case.
