India has temporarily barred Jane Street Group LLC from accessing the local securities market for alleged index manipulation, dealing a severe hit to the US firm that made $4.3 billion in trading gains there in more than two years.

(Reuters) -Shares of some Indian stockbrokers and exchange operator BSE fell on Friday after the country's markets regulator banned U.S. trading firm Jane Street from the local securities market over alleged manipulation in derivatives trading.

India has barred Jane Street from the country’s financial markets and said it would seize around $570 million that the U.S. securities firm made from allegedly fraudulent trades.
