Her colorful tile countertop came as a result of a number of Mexican tiles being assembled from the likes of eBay and even second-hand furniture that were repurposed to cover her counter.

The centerpiece, though, is the pool, with its turquoise-glazed volcanic tile the color, in this light, of a restless ocean. Suro spent a year honing the variegated effects.
