`Needful Things” is an end-of-summer closeout, slipped into theaters as one more dog for the dog days. Based on still another Stephen King best seller, this is pulp moviemaking at its worst.
Needful Things was my favorite Stephen King novel as a kid. I am not a fan of the long runtimes, but I think this book deserves 187 minutes, and I would like to see it.
