The New York Mets are going through a major hiccup. With high expectations around the organization, Steve Cohen is apologizing to Mets fans and in the process, putting pressure on their biggest offseason addition.

The Mets went into the season with baseball's highest payroll and took a big swing by landing Juan Soto to a 15-year, $765 million contract. They also re-signed Pete Alonso. Cohen's plan was to go all-in on a team that showed serious signs of contention with last year's run to the NLCS.
