Custer State Park in western South Dakota will have an antelope hunting season later this year, its first since 2016.

The Game, Fish and Parks Commission voted recently to have an antelope hunting season in Custer State Park this fall.

Yellowstone is breathtaking, but can be crowded and expensive. This South Dakota state park is a cheaper and less crowded alternative.

From May 16-18, South Dakota state parks and recreation areas will open its doors for free entry. The tradition typically occurs on Memorial Day weekend.
