Pittsburgh’s Department of Public Works on Wednesday announced they will begin giving away free mulch from recycled Christmas trees this weekend, and they will collect yard waste early next month.

Location for Mulch Giveaway: Pittsburgh Zoo Overflow Parking Lot, 7370 Baker Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15206; Residents are encouraged to bring their own buckets, gloves, and shovels to collect mulch.

This year, the mulch will be available on April 19 and April 26 — or until supplies last — at 7370 Baker Street, which is the Pittsburgh Zoo's overflow parking lot.

Residents can pick up the mulch at the Pittsburgh Zoo Overflow Parking Lot from dawn to dusk on April 19 and April 26. Residents must bring their own buckets, gloves and shovels.
