It may be recalled that it was after six months of trouble — with damage to crops, property and people — that Vinayaga was tranquilised and captured in Chinna Thadagam on December 18, 2018.

CHENNAI: THE Madras High Court has directed the State Government to frame guidelines for installation of Vinayaga idols which shall be strictly complied with by the parties concerned.

On the occasion, a large number of Vinayaga idols from various places in Chennai will be brought to Srinivasapuram, in Foreshore Estate, Pattinambakkam to be immersed in the sea on Sunday.
