Lou Richt, father of former UGA football coach Mark Richt, died Wednesday at age 88 in Watkinsville, where he had been living in a nursing home.

Lou Richt, father of former Georgia coach Mark Richt, died on Wednesday, his son shared in a social media post Thursday morning.

Richt revealed his father has Parkinson's as well. He and his wife, Katharyn, recently moved back to Athens, Georgia, to be closer to his family, including his parents, children and grandchildren.
