Remains found on Mount Everest may have belonged to the British climber Andrew Comyn “Sandy” Irvine, who disappeared along with George Mallory in 1924.
The team that discovered Mallory’s remains also found some circumstantial clues that suggested he and Irvine did reach the summit before they died.
The find comes 25 years after Irvine's climbing partner George Mallory’s frozen body was also discovered on the Himalayan peak.
