LG is leaning heavily into support for the DisplayPort 2.1 specification on its new UltraGear GX7 (model 27GX790A) gaming monitor with an OLED panel, and for good reason.

LG announced the monitor at CES alongside the 45GX990A, ... It has two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 2.1, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort and up to 90 watts of Power Delivery.

The LG Ultragear GX7 27GX790A also includes DisplayPort 2.1 support for next-gen GPUs making it perhaps the ultimate fast refresh rate monitor.

Moreover, LG is including a DisplayPort 2.1 connection to ensure compatibility with “next-generation GPUs expected to launch in early 2025,” as LG’s press release reads.

The LG MyView Smart Monitor 32SR85U isn’t a great monitor for motion clarity. It sticks to a 60Hz refresh rate and doesn’t support Adaptive Sync for smooth frame pacing in 3D games.

Last year, LG’s big CES announcement was a 240 Hz monitor that can also go to 480 Hz. That display cost $1,400 MSRP. Judging by its size, we expect the GX9 to cost even more.
