CHARLOTTE — The Wake Forest University School of Medicine campus in midtown Charlotte — the catalyst for a multilayer transformative healthcare initiative — formally opened its doors Monday.

Shasta County’s support for establishing a local medical school continues to raise the temperature on the Board of Supervisors. Ironically, all five supervisors support the idea of a medical school.

D'Youville University has selected the five-story office building at 285 Delaware Ave. for its new osteopathic medical school.

The College of Staten Island graduate will continue her education journey at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
