The 29-year-old son of NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was sentenced to six months in jail for stabbing his neighbor during an argument about trash cans.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor, played 21 seasons in the NBA, retiring as the league’s all-time leading scorer with 38,387 points.
