Edgecombe was one of the top true freshman performers among college basketball this season, averaging 15 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game while shooting 44% overall.
Edgecombe, then an 18-year-old guard, posted some impressive numbers in the summer. He was third on the team in scoring with 16.5 points, adding 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists to his tally.
Edgecombe is posting an absurd 7.0% block rate along with a 4.3% steal rate, 13.4% offensive rebound rate, 19.9% assist rate, and a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio.
VJ Edgecombe, the former Baylor wing who appears likely to land in the top five of the NBA draft, had "an excellent interview" with the Charlotte Hornets, according to Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports.
