The owners of the Japanese restaurant in a three-story building, 96 State Street LLC, received the permit after they dropped their plans to build an addition on the second and third floors.

Shabu Shack is planning to establish a Japanese hot pot restaurant out of an approximately 4,500-square-foot space on the ground floor of The Frederic, along L Street facing Golden 1 Center.
